I know that generally it’s not a good idea to miss Day Two of a series when you’re just getting a new blog started. My apologies. In my defense, I have a REALLY good excuse which, even though it was in no way responsible for my lack of postage, makes a good story.

So where’s all the crush?

It’s been five months since I announced the existence of DailyBlogCrush to the world via Twitter. That “announcement”, as it were, was a bit premature. For the first couple months, I was busy recreating a client’s website (which you can now see at Family-Wellness.com). Then it came time to evaluate DailyBlogCrush.

Over the course of the next year, you’ll see a lot of blogs reviewed here on this site. I’d love to review only blogs with custom designs, but that approach presents a few problems.

1. I don’t have the time or resources to verify each site is custom designed. I COULD contact the owner and ask them, but that could get awkward, especially since many blogs are modified versions of free and premium blog themes.

A lot of people like you are out there searching for a better explanation of “blogging”. What is a blog? What does it mean “to blog”? How is one website a blog and another NOT a blog?

You’ll find plenty of other sources out there on the Web giving their best official “blog” definition. Not here. I’ll tell you what blogging is from my perspective, and you can take it or leave it. First off, know that I’ve been blogging since 2005. Four plus years is an eternity in the Web age. I was blogging when everyone else thought the Internet was all about Amazon.com and MySpace. As a matter of fact, I remember reading articles in 2005/2006 defining blogs as those things people write on MySpace. Laughable.

As you’ll learn in less than two months by following my personal blog, I change blog themes and styles like a woman changes shoes. I haven’t settled on a blog design that really suits me personally.
